My sister's partner has been making an alcove into a wardrobe/cupboard. He needed some doors to cover the space.
So I made him up a set of four shaker style doors, with simple clean lines, to cover the hole! I always like this style of door and have built many for our own house, with wardrobes, cupboards and a whole kitchen using them. They were fitted with kitchen style concealed hinges with full overlay.
They should look really smart when painted up. Made with tulip wood and ply. Video above shows the full process of making them.
What style doors do you like on cupboards and things?
Our kitchen is full of inset doors but it was a huge struggle to get the cabinets trued and the doors adjusted for the gaps to look nice. All my other cabinet doors are full overlay like the ones above which are much much more forgiving in getting things looking nice.
ReplyDeleteThey do look very smart indeed, Kev!
ReplyDeleteI think I quite prefer these rather than the "outset" doors that are more common in a lot of commercial home building here.
