Talk For A School

I was really lucky again this year to be invited back to Hellens Gardens to give a talk for a school.

They'd been going to the school and building a garden with them and planting seeds with the year 3 class. This was the last day and involved some crafts and planting as well as a talk from me about growing food.

It was a perfect spring day (again), the whole class were lovely and it was really great to see them all so enthusiast about what they'd been growing and the crafts they were doing that morning (decorating wellies to use as planters).

My talk went down well, I like to think my energy can match that of an 8 year old, so I think they had fun. Lots of running back and forth as they tried to guess which fruits were real and which were Pokémon or cartoon characters!

A greta way to spend a morning, I then went to try and deal with a swarm of bees (I couldn't as they were bumble bees (Wish they'd told me before I left) and then another talk in the Cotswolds that evening!

  1. Sounds like a lovely day, Kev. Thanks for passing it on to the younger generation.

  2. Wonderful. Hopefully they will persuade their parents to grow vegetables and plants and perhaps rent allotments. They are the gardeners of the future.
