World Book Day 2022 - Laura Ingalls

 The children had their world book day last week and I loved their costumes which they used their own ideas for. 

The youngest was "How to wash a woolly Mammoth". 

The middlest was "How the leopard got his spots"

And the eldest was Laura Ingalls from the "Little house on the prairie" series of books. She was the most excited about this as she made the piny/apron herself, sewing it during half term as a great little project. 

I said I was going to my workshop as "Papere" from a great children's carpentry book we have called "Grandpas Workshop" as a no effort costume.

World Book Day 2020

My brood nailing #worldbookday. Funniest bit is listening to other parents moan about having to find their child a costume... mine play dress up most nights so I had no say in what they were and had put them together about a month ago!

We've got Wally, Boudica, a dragon, and Amelia Earhart.

We did upgrade the war paint just before she left for school! I jokingly told a friend I'd grown the Woad myself to make the dye and she believed me! 

I went to my workshop dressed as the carpenter from "The Village Carpenter"...

World Book Day

Today is world book day and there has become a tradition across schools where the children dress as their favourite character or person from a book they love. 

I think our girls saw this as a challenge. No one would be guessing who they were! They decided who they were going to be with no input from us! We might have gone with people a little more mainstream.
