The In out Game

I will be so happy when I don't have to lug all my tender plants outside every morning and inside every night!

Still dipping below freezing some nights and probably for a few more weeks yet.

Do you bring your plants in at the moment?

  1. Mostly I have mine in one of the tunnels, the peppers and tomatoes I have already planted in the tunnels, I cover them at night with bubble plastic or floating fleece.I alsp have some old framed low plastic covered frames, that I can use otuside if necessary By using a max/min thermometer and moving it around the beds ,I have identified areas of chill and areas that stay warmer, which is also a help.
    Another frost last night.

    1. Unfortunately where I am it is a bit of a frost pocket and the temps we've been having it's all been dropping below freezing. I have some fleece , but not enough for the whole tunnel, so I'm holding off a bit later.

  2. Despite being in Piraeus we haven't started ours yet. No frosts to contend with but we don't have a greenhouse either and this spring has been dire. This year we are limiting our potted garden to chillies and a few herbs.

    1. Do you manage to grow tomatoes outside? We could in our last garden but never managed it in this house, just that much cooler spot I think.

  3. My plants think they are yoyo's, they are ready to go in the garden, but I will wait a couple of weeks.

    1. I was going to do all my tomatoes in pots to keep moving in and out, luckily I decided that root trainers would be easier and that was the right choice! Still make good strong plants but less trips in and out!

  5. Me too Kev, don't know whether I'm coming or going - rather than global warming, it seems like we're heading for another ice age around here in North Norfolk!

    1. It certainly has been cold with more cold weather forecast. Although my neighbour say he's had frosts here in the second week of June before now.
